How to optimize your 3G or CDMA connection
Step 1: Ensuring maximum uptime on your internet connection
- Login to the router.
- Go to INTERNET->CONNECTION TRACKER.
- Activate the Connection Tracker.
- Insert up to 3 publicly responsive IP addresses that reply to pings. NOTE: You cannot use internal IP addresses such as 192.168.0.x.
- Select the second option in Failure Handling, called "Redial Only" or "Redial and Restart".
- Save Settings before proceeding to Step 2.

Step 2: Improving uplink speed and throughput performance.
- Go to SYSTEM->NETWORK SETTINGS.
- Unclick the "Let router select safe settings" in case it has been selected.
- Select the "3G General" profile from the drop-down Load Preset menu.
- Save Settings and apply a Restart of your router.
How to optimize your iBurst connection (Please note that iBurst is only supported by the DOVADO UMR)
Step 1: Ensuring maximum uptime on your internet connection
- Login to the router.
- Go to INTERNET->CONNECTION TRACKER.
- Activate the Connection Tracker.
- Insert up to 3 publicly responsive IP addresses that reply to pings. NOTE: You cannot use internal IP addresses such as 192.168.0.x.
- Select the second option in Failure Handling, called "Redial Only" or "Redial and Restart".
- Save Settings before proceeding to Step 2.
Step 2: Improving data throughput performance.
- Go to SYSTEM->NETWORK SETTINGS.
- Unclick the "Let router select safe settings" in case it has been selected.
- Select the specific "iBurst" profile (depending on operator) from the drop-down Load Preset menu.
- Save Settings and apply a Restart of your router.
How to configure the automatic fail-over (backup Internet connection) functionality
NOTE:
In this example, we are using the WAN port as the primary point of internet access, and the USB modem as the secondary point of internet access.
Step 1: Basic setup.
- Insert Ethernet WAN cable into WAN port on the router.
- Insert USB modem into any of the 2 USB ports on the router.
- Power on the router.
- Configure your USB modem's internet access.
Step 2: Selecting the primary interface.
- Go to the INTERNET->INTERNET CONNECTION page.
- Select "Ethernet cable in WAN port" as your primary point of internet access. (as per example)
- Save Settings before proceeding to Step 3.
Step 3: Configuring the Ethernet WAN port IP address.
- Go to the INTERNET->WAN PORT SETTINGS page.
- Select whether you'll be appointed an "Automtic (DHCP)" IP address or if you need to input a static IP address ("Manual Settings")
- Save Settings before proceeding to Step 4.
Step 4: Configuring the fail-over functionality
- Go to INTERNET->CONNECTION TRACKER page.
- Activate the Connection Tracker.
- Insert up to 3 publicly responsive IP addresses that reply to pings. NOTE: You cannot use internal IP addresses such as 192.168.0.x.
- Select the third option in Failure Handling, called "Auto fail-over to secondary interface (WAN-to-USB or USB-to-WAN)"

- Save Settings and apply a Restart of your router.
