The major milestone with this firmware update is that we got SMS working on some previously challenging modems.
SMS
SMS->SETTINGS: Added extra methods of extracting received messages from the modem.
- Auto(default) (UMR tries to figure out if SMS is received to SIM or MODEM)
- SIM (Forces the UMR to read incoming SMS from SIM and then move it to the UMR memory)
- MODEM (Forces the UMR to read incoming SMS from MODEM and then move it to the UMR memory)
If there is problem with receiving SMS, then please try to force the router to SIM mode / Modem Mode and then send a new sms and see if it get received it.

Update since 4.1.0
SYSTEM->REMOTE MANAGEMENT: It is now possible to select *ANY* host without entering information in the *HOST* field.
Overview
This firmware broadens a lot of features that are presently available, especially around Home Automation and GPS Positioning. Combining both, we have introduced sunrise/sunset event scheduling. This is useful for those of you who are fed up with manually alternating the timing schedule of your lights at home. This feature can now control your lights and appliances according to the setting and rising of the Sun. We also added time margins (before/after sunrise/sunset). As this feature is dependent on geography, you are required either enter a position manually or to use the GPS. You can do this on the POSITION->SETTINGS page.
In addition to this, you will also notice that we have improved the speed when it comes to switching between the router's configuration webpages.
And as always, lots of new modems! Lately, we have put a lot of effort in supporting 21Mbps, and to date we support nearly every model that has been made available to the public. Demo videos are available on our YouTube channel.
Remote Management
SYSTEM->REMOTE MANAGEMENT: Supports manual entry of whitelisted hostnames for remote access (besides IP addresses).
SYSTEM->REMOTE MANAGEMENT: API is now accessible from the Internet, and not just LAN.
SYSTEM->REMOTE MANAGEMENT: Ability to select which API features are allowed to be accessed (SMS, Home Automation)
Positioning
Support for real-time update of the GPS position via GPSD (see http://www.gpsd.org/ for further info)
Ability to select which type of Google map to use (Hybrid, Satellite, Terrain, Road)
Home Automation
Sunrise/Sunset event scheduling: This feature is dependent on geography, you are required either enter a position manually or to use the GPS. You can do this on the POSITION->SETTINGS page.
AUTOMATIONS->SCHEDULED EVENTS: Added a “random” time to the “Minutes” drop-down menu in page (excellent for confusing potential vigilant burglars!).
Added support for additional brands of wireless wallplugs that are supported by the TellStick 2.0 (blue TellStick). These brands include Everflourish (not self-learning!) Rising Sun, Arctech and Brateck.
Everflourish: See store example
Rising Sun: See store example
Added support for Gembird's USB-controlled wired electical outlets. Can be controlled via Web, API, SMS and scheduling:
1. SIS-PM (4 sockets): See store example
2. mSIS-PM (1 socket): See store example
Verified to work with the DovTelCon (Dovado Tellstick Control) API program developed by Daniel Buecke (Thanks Daniel!!) http://dovtelcon.buecke.com. This Windows system bar utility allows you to quickly take control of all your home automation devices locally or from remote.
General
LAN->UPNP: Ability to view which ports are presently used.
SYSTEM->NETWORK SETTINGS: ICMP block : Ability to disable ping replies from outside.
SYSTEM->NTP: Field for custom entry of NTP (Network Time Protocol) server.
SYSTEM->NTP: Daylight savings available as a selectable option.
SMS->REMOTE CONTROL: “Connection Up” SMS now provides more info (feature only works when combined with Connection Tracker)
Support for multiple VPN sessions initiated from behind the UMR.
Connection Status Overview bar contains sunrise and sunset times for your geographic position (enter co-ordinates or use GPS on POSITION->SETTINGS page).
Speed improvement on internal browsing between setup pages.

Firmware 3.0.5 features:
2500MB (2.5GB) and 5000MB (5GB) intervals placed in the Internet Traffic Consumption Report via SMS, located on the INTERNET->TRAFFIC page.
SMS "Status" command now also includes monthly data consumption (downloaded/uploaded, in gigabytes) in the replied SMS. Note: It'll show only for the interface which is connected to the Internet.
Custom DNS fields available in case you wish to use alternative DNS servers on your Internet connection. Good for OpenDNS (for instance). Available on the SYSTEM->DNS page.
Norwegian, Polish and Finnish languages available in the Wizard Setup.
Sierra Wireless Compass 885 and 888 USB modems set to high power mode.
Firmware 3.0 features:
SMS Remote Control
: Allows you to remotely control your UMR from a white-listed mobile phone. Simply send a short SMS command to the DOVADO UMR for it to process certain tasks, such as Restart, Connect, Disconnect, Status, etc.
More information is available here: www.dovado.com/sms
SMS Event Notifications: Get a SMS each time something happens with your Internet connection or if the DOVADO UMR has restarted itself. As the SMS functionality is not dependant on a working Interent connection, you can receive an update each time a disconnect or a switch (to/from the WAN port) in the connection occurs.
More information is available here: www.dovado.com/sms
Internet Traffic Consumption Report via SMS: For those of you on tight monthly mobile broadband data budgets, you can now get an update each time your Internet consumption has passed a certain tollgate. You will get a report for the calander month each time you pass 100, 250, 500 or 1000MB of data. The report is reset with the beginning of a new calander month.
More information is available here: www.dovado.com/traffic
SMS & Web-based Home Automation with TellStick: Together with the TellStick (from Telldus Technologies), the DOVADO UMR can wirelessly control lights and appliances throughout the household. On the appliance-end, a wireless receiver which plugs into a wall socket can be commanded to power off/on the attached appliance or light. The UMR can execute your requests via the web interface (remotely or locally), SMS from white-listed mobile phones, and on a scheduled basis.
More information is available here: www.dovado.com/tellstick
Connection Status Overview Bar: When accessing the Graphical User Interface (GUI) on http://192.168.0.1; you will be able to spot a frame at the top of the interface which provides you an update of your connection status. It reports whether or not the Internet connection is up, and also which interface you're connecting to the Internet through (USB modem or WAN port). It also shows the signal strength on the USB modem, and how much data has been downloaded & uploaded on both Internet connections. This is practical for those of you who want to have a good idea of whether your DOVADO UMR has automatically switched over from a fixed-broadband connection to mobile broadband (or vice versa), and how much data has been consumed.
NTP Clock: This feature provides your DOVADO UMR with a virtual clock. It synchronizes each time the Internet connection is established upon boot, and checked frequently. It allows you to get accurate reports on applications such as Internet Consumption Traffic Reports and when using the Scheduling option in Home Automation. The NTP Clock can be easily configured to match your timezone.
Custom WAN port MAC address: Allows you to change out the physical MAC address of the WAN port to a custom one.
Show Hosts on LAN: See which computers are currently connected to the DOVADO UMR.
GRE Protocol Forwarding: Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) is now supported as an option in the Port Forwarding page (together with TCP/UDP). Allows you to host a VPN server behind the DOVADO UMR.
Multi-lingual Setup Wizard: Initially only in English, Swedish and German. We intend on adding in more languages in future releases.
Feature Update:
More descriptive text in the graphical user interface.
If selecting the auto-failover option in the Connection Tracker, along with selecting one of the two Internet interfaces as your primary (WAN port vs. USB modem), the Connection Tracker will initiate the secondary Internet interface upon boot in case the primary interface is not available.
