Press ReleaseThursday, November 24th, 2005 Introducing the world’s first Voice Gateway with Power-over-Ethernet Output; the DOVADO RGp
With the introduction of industry standard Power-over-Ethernet (802.3af) Output in the RG1p and RG2p, a single Ethernet cable between the RGp and the wireless access modem solves the basic issue of providing power as well as relaying data traffic. The Power-over-Ethernet Output is delivered out of the WAN port located on the RGp. Having no need for excess hardware and cabling means ease of installation as well as less troubleshooting.
DOVADO has qualified the RGp together with various wireless access modem vendors based on several technologies such as WiMAX, OFDM, WLAN and others. The RGp as a new addition to the DOVADO product portfolio is an operator-managed gateway, allowing operators to successfully deploy an operator-owned voice offering. The RGp can be deployed in apartments, villas and office buildings to provide data and telephony. For deployments that only include a roof/attic-mounted wireless modem, the RGp can be added to provide the value-add in form of high-grade telephony and NAT-routing capabilities.
The DOVADO RG1p and RG2p are set to go into volume production in January of 2006. To read more about this product, kindly visit our portfolio. About DOVADO For further information, please contact: |
