DOVADO enters Saudi Arabia as its debut market in the Middle East

With the announcement of its regional debut in the Middle East, DOVADO has appointed Nahda International Trading Establishment (NITE) as its premier distributor in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The DOVADO USB Mobile Broadband Router (UMR) is available for demonstration and purchase at the annual GITEX exhibition (shopper's area), hosted in Riyadh, between the 19th and 23rd of April, 2009.

Traffic Consumption Overview & SMS Notification
Following the introduction of a bi-monthly data consumption meter for both the mobile broadband as well as fixed broadband connections, it is also possible to receive an SMS reminder of how much data has been consumed on the mobile broadband connection during the calendar month. This feature allows users to have a better overview and control of their data consumption. The notifications are made on selected intervals of consumed traffic (100/250/500/1000 MB).

SMS Remote Control
Using the inserted USB modem into the UMR, users can remotely control their DOVADO UMR with the help of their mobile phone. It is possible to check the signal/connection status, retrieve the IP address of the router, and perform certain tasks such as restart, disconnect and connect the mobile internet. The SMS Remote Control function is not dependant on a working mobile internet connection, only an inserted compliant USB modem with SMS-enabled SIM card. The feature also incorporates SMS-based notifications of any sudden changes in internet connection or operational status.

Home Automation with TellStick^TM
Following the joint cooperation with Telldus Technologies, the DOVADO UMR is now able to host a USB device called the TellStick^TM. The TellStick^TM can wirelessly control the power switching of lights and appliances throughout the home within a 30 meter radius. The corresponding unit, a wireless receiver for power switching, is available in electronic retail today in large volumes. DOVADO’s unique integration allows users to remotely control their lights and appliances with the help of an SMS, let alone the integrated web-based management available in the UMR.
