DOVADO introduces the 3GN; its first 802.11n
WiFi router with 21Mbps 3G/HSPA+ modem support

Following the success of the DOVADO USB Mobile Broadband Router (UMR), DOVADO has added a new router to its product portfolio to broaden its access to the growing global community of mobile broadband users. DOVADO is introducing its latest router, the 3GN, incorporating much of the software technology the company developed for the UMR. The DOVADO 3GN is the first DOVADO router to bridge the 150Mbps Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) with a 21Mbps 3G/HSPA+ mobile broadband network.
The DOVADO USB Wireless-N Router (3GN) allows users to insert their 3G/HSPA+ or CDMA2000 (1xEV-DO) mobile broadband USB modem and share out their internet connection with ease via Ethernet or Wireless LAN, providing access to all their computers and wireless-enabled devices throughout the home or office. Not only is the 3GN a very price-competitive product which fulfills the gap between USB modem and local area network, the 3GN is also simple to configure and resilient in its stability and performance. Offering a residential or SOHO broadband connection without wires, the 3GN provides round-the-clock connection, as one would experience with fixed broadband.
Extensive Modem Support
With the longest and fastest growing list in the telecom industry, and as part of our continuous development, DOVADO focuses on adding support for new modems in all its firmware releases. The DOVADO 3GN is launched to the market with proven support for over 80 different USB modems from all over the world, with intention to expand the list in future firmware releases. The benefit of this development means that USB modem owners do not have to swap out their DOVADO router in order to gain the benefits of a faster mobile broadband connection.
Connection Tracker TM
To overcome a common experience with mobile network disconnects, DOVADO incorporates the Connection Tracker TM feature in its routers. The Connection Tracker TM assures round-the-clock uptime of the Internet connection by checking the availability of several Internet destinations. In case these destinations are unreachable during operation, the UMR will reconnect the link automatically or take further action to establish the connection.
SMS Remote Control
By attaching the USB modem to the DOVADO 3GN, users can remotely control their router with the help of their mobile phone. It is possible to check the signal/connection status, retrieve the IP address of the router, and perform certain tasks such as restart, disconnect, and connect the mobile broadband. The SMS Remote Control function is not dependant on a working mobile internet connection, but only an inserted compliant USB modem with an SMS-enabled SIM card. This feature also incorporates SMS-based notifications of any sudden abruptions in internet connection or operational status.
Traffic Consumption Overview & SMS Notification
The DOVADO 3GN also contains a bi-monthly data consumption meter for the mobile & fixed broadband interfaces. For mobile broadband subscriptions with a limited monthly data plan, it is possible to receive an SMS reminder of how much data has been consumed during the calendar month. This feature allows users to have a better overview and control of their data consumption. The notifications are made on selected intervals of consumed traffic (100-5000 MB).
Automatic Fail-Over (backup line)
The possibility to appoint a primary and secondary Internet connection i.e.: Ethernet WAN port or mobile USB modem. In case the primary link fails to reach the Internet, the Connection Tracker TM will toggle the connection to the secondary line. Once the primary connection is working again, it will automatically toggle back to the primary, thus utilizing less resources of the secondary connection. In overall, this solution will provide users with minimal Internet downtime.
